musical ideas will be way better if you use analogue gear!

Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.

i use about 90 % analogue gear.
i use a pc for sequencing and minimal editing, but do everything else live.
theres great music being made totally in the digital domain, but ive tried both and i'd rather use analogue everytime.
for me it's a more organic way of working.

the current rate at which technology develops renders both digital and analogue on a par. Really depends on the user. It's 2006, digital software is in case's so much, much more powerful in terms of processing, but of course there is some analogue gear that just sounds truely great

neither is better nor worse though, it really is too subjective

i'd agree with texture, digital synthesis is very much on a par, it all really depends how you work, ive always had a 'knob per job' approach, so if i had a totally digital set-up i would need so many controller interfaces, that it would defeat the object of switching from analogue.

the processing issue, i'd only partially agree with, it really depends on how complex your analogue set up is, but for the money, digital wins everytime.

my analogue ears also prefer the sound, but i'm sure that future higher resolution digtal sound will eventually become indistiguishable from analogue

at some level, ears are digital. it takes an event of a certain threshold to create an impulse sent to the brain. The ears have lots of these lil receptors, but there is still a limit. digital technology has been catching up to match how many and how fast these receptors work.

I like both.

i'v sampled all my analog gear, and put it under my bed

sometimes if im lacking insperation, i can pull it out and its quite refreshing

computers just give you so much flexability when it comes to editing arranging!
