i have one of these.. nice point and shoot
pocket sized...
BUT i have to say the very best part is almost no motorized parts to break!

Even the lens cover is manuel, and no telescoping lens

nice for dark use

(i'v busted a few cameras, and this one so far seems really rugged)

it's the finepix Z1

that does seem to be a good cam- but I'm going down to WMC and need to pinch some pennies-- anything around 200? not 300+

I know I'm being cheap- but there is a reason for it-- and that's why I was thinking Aiptek MVRP 2K6

I work at a photo store that caters to the pros. Canon kicks everyone's asses in digital. Believe me. Of course the high end pro level cameras - 5D, IDs Mark II, will set you back a pretty penny ($8,000ish).

As others have said the Canon Powershots are an excellent line of consumer level cameras.
