Controller Keyboards

Post by harvoir »

I've decided if i'm going to stick with soft synths i need more hands on control...So i'm going to get a controller keyboard...I'm thinking about the M-Audio Keystation pro 88 but because it is usb powered i've heard the latency is noticable...(but it's got lots of controllers)

Is there another controll surface out there which has plenty of scope to control cubase, soft synths etc...

Any other ideas?

Microkontrol is good.

I have personal beefs with the way the knobs work, but it's a well-featured unit.

microkontrol is cool and nicely made, only problem is the keys they are too small , i like the big korg better [its more expensive though].

I checked these out in a music store the other day and they seemed pretty decent:

im having the same problem...
so far E-MU Xboard 25 (dont really need 4 octaves) is best choice for me comparing price/performance... but its still a lil aout of hand for me :(

try from evolution this maybe:

or this if u dont need keys:

i actually quite like my M-AUDIO O2 :)
It's not that big, i know, and the keys are only half-action which takes some time getting used to. BUT the keys are touch-sensitive and that's really nice for subtle basslines and such :) And it's cheap and portable
