We would like to announce the first release on our new imprint, Clink, is available now. This label is based out of Brooklyn, NY, owned by Camea (myself) and Insideout (Grant Aaron), and will be featuring tracks and remixes by us and other minimal house and techno artists. The first release features the debut of the collaboration of Tim Xavier and Tony Rohr under the moniker Afternoon Coffee Boys.
Clink 01 – “Dark Blend” by the Afternoon Coffee Boys
As close neighbors in Brooklyn, NY, American techno all-stars Tim Xavier and Tony Rohr recently decided to combine their knowledge and talents in the studio. Having both expanded their own production into the minimal genre, they had a good sense of each other’s artistic direction and capabilities. The result made our jaws drop. Now, under the moniker Afternoon Coffee Boys, Tim and Tony are releasing their collaborative debut on Clink 001. We are very excited and honored that they are the contributing producers for our first release.
A1 - Dark Blend – The titled track is a mixture of traditional 909 work, shuffled rims, and advanced FM synthesis to make a peak hour minimal techno tune able to please the spectrum of listeners of this genre. Basically, it rocks
. B1 – Camea’s rmx – Camea explores the darker, chunkier side of minimal house with her remix. Her unique manipulation of the original samples and use of intricate textures bring a fresh level of originality to this release.
B2 – Insideout rmx - Insideout aka Grant Aaron adds an element of funk to this EP. Between the swinging minimal rhythms and moving basslines, this remix is light, groovy and very flattering arrangement to the original.
