I think M.J.'s work is much more artistic and thought out than half the minimal crap coming out at the moment. It actually has depth and is very musical compared to the usual sample a click and pop and rearrange them. I imagine he's made some good cash off his music, I doubt he's "rich" from it though.

I should rephrase what I wrote.

What I mean is that I find his tracks to be more stand alone as compared to most music discussed on this board.
They have incredible depth, diversity and quality and for this reason I find them more difficult to mix. Much like Ricardo tracks they seem to tell a story or are a journey with peaks and valleys (sorry for the analogy). They stand alone and for me Mats music is more for listening, enjoying and hearring live.

Incredible producer and a legend of our time in techno.

Mat is from the area where im from. I know that most of his money goes back into Wagon Repair. I would have to say hes far from rich, but makes a good go at seeing the world doing what he loves. Which in itself is worth a whole lot.
