One of my mixes online

Post by mathieu »

At last and as promised, I managed to put one of my mixes online : ftp://matthiasviertal.no-ip.org, username : mnml, password : holland.
This is the second part of my 2-hour set on Next Groove, in July.
Sorry for the bad quality and the slow download rate...

Hi Militikie !
The manufacturer of the Control Freak is Kenton, they are in the UK and they have a very good website at : http://www.kenton.co.uk, where you can find the retailers. They have several different models of controllers : some with rotary knobs, some with sliders...

The Korg Micro Kontrol is certainly a good controller, but I've always wandered if it's possible to switch from one bank to the other "on the fly" ? This is a very interesting feature with the Kenton Control Freak : it has a memory of 64 banks, and you can switch from one to the other thanks to a big rotary encoder. The only problem is that it hasn't got these nice small LCDs to display the name of each parameter assigned to each knob like the Micro Kontrol, but there are only 16 knobs and by designing a logical layout of your parameters, it's easy to remember which is where... and it's good for practising your own memory !
Now it's also true that the 16 pads and the small keyboard can be very useful for muting tracks, changing chords in real time and so on...
