I'm a vegetarian and the following recipe is very easy and tastes wonderful.

If you're not up for vegetarian "quorn"-filè's you can always use real meat, not quite sure what the correct english term would be, but I guess it would be something like "pork-filè's"

you need:

* Quorn filè's (or pork-filè's) (approx 200grams)
* Cream (3 dl)
* Garlic (powder)
* Mushrooms (usual field-mushrooms) (one can)
(...or psilocybin, if you want your date to get a bit more interesting after the meal... ;) )
* Blue cheese (approx. 60 grams)
* Gnocchi pasta

cut up the filè's in smaller pieces and brown the quorn/meat in a roasting pan. put the mushrooms and a bit of garlic powder and stir it for a while. crumb the blue cheese into small... euh, crumbs in the roasting pan and then pour the cream over the mess directly. let it simmer until the quorn/meat filè's are done....

I'm not quite sure when it comes to meat how long it will take until the meat is done, but since the meat only was browned it might take a little while I guess. With the vegetarian Quorn it really doesn't matter - just aslong as it doesn't end up frozen ;)

serve with pasta (preferably gnocchi)

Pasta is always a safe bet. It's really hard to fck up with pasta, because it's so simple to cook. Just put a nice sauce on top, preferably with some meat, peppers, onions etc et viola!!

well somehow, many people don't know how to cook pasta
they don't know the difference between al dente and overcooked...
even in restaurants i'd have to grab the cook by the neck and throw him in the cooking pot so he knows the difference

it's so easy, still people don't know...

Ingredients (all approximate, as I made this specific recipe up)

2 large Chicken breasts
1 small Onion
2 or 3 Mushrooms
1 large head of Broccoli
1 bag Spinach
Cheese (Cheddar, Mozarella, Ricotta)
Fresh Basil & Parsley
Garlic
Dried Mixed Herbs
Tin of Campbells Condensed Mushroom Soup
Salt & Pepper
Olive Oil
Lasagne Sheets

Method

Finely chop onion, mushroom and garlic and soften in a large pan with a lid on with some olive oil, salt, pepper on a low heat for 20 minutes

Break broccoli florets off getting rid of any large stalk bits and place in a steamer and steam until soft

Cut chicken into small pieces and fry gently in olive oil until just cooked (5 mins) then drain off any excess fat/liquid

Put the chicken and steamed broccoli in with the onion/mushroom mix and add the can of soup and half a can of milk to loosen the sauce, leave to simmer on a low heat

Next make the cheese sauce, put butter in a small saucepan on a medium/low heat, when melted add flour to absorb all the butter.

S l o w l y add milk (about half a litre) to the pan and stir so that the sauce does not go lumpy, then add the cheese and let it melt and thicken the sauce…

Steam the spinach for 5 mins so it just starts to break down and soften…

Stir chopped parsley and basil into the chicken mix and switch it off

In a lasagne dish put a layer of the chicken mix, a layer of lasagne, a layer of spinach and cheese sauce, layer of lasagne etc… top off with some spare cheese and chopped herbs for a nice crispy cheesy top

Put in an oven at 180 degrees C for 35-40 minutes

Not really a quick meal, but it never fails to impress the ladies ;)

dsat - aldente pasta is key... HATE it overcooked

oh and last night for dinner I had Chicken breast, butterflied and cooked in a cast iron griddle, rice cooked in chicken stock and paprika, and a steamed stir fry (ie fried to start then lid put on to keep in moisture) of courgette (zuchini?) red pepper, spring onion, garlic and mushroom with a little flaked dried chilli... took 20 mins to cook and was V tasty :)

I think after djing cooking is my next favourite passtime...
