At least it isn't for me... And whole Reason idea drags me into looping - you know - Redrum patterns, Matrix - and what's the worst I can't resist it...plaster wrote: ur saying that reason is not good for making arrangement?
Plus, that mixer sux bigtime...im a cubase person, but i recomand ableton live to anyone starting to make music.
cubase is very complex and i use it since it was the only sequencer for pc back in the days when i started.
ableton gives the minimalistic sound u can hear in magda rsr etc etc
it is very friendly and easy to use, and the envalopes make the whole track no sweat.
i have difficulties to take frutty loops and reason seriouslly, the sound and the whole work is very unsetisfying

Not to open this can of worms again, but I disagree. I do agree that for more conventional "music" though, it is better coupled with Cubase.
But to answer your question, there is no better place to start than Reason. It's a great platform to learn all sorts of aspects of production. It's been my mainstay for years and I have used it for alot of different sorts of work.
