Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.

I would also recommend to check out the FaderFox series of controllers.
Small, lightweight and loaded with knobs, buttons and what not.

Behringer 4 li(f)ve!

They just rock. You can bring them 10000 times to a club / openair and they just stay as good and new as they where when you bought em. And all Faders are automated and the Knobs have LEDs which show you the actual state which is a good thing while liveperforming. They are simply the best.

But you also could have used the search functions here are about 2897398273 threads about midi controlers.

Microkontrol has garbage digital encoders. Useless.

UC-33 i've just bought myself. I was skeptical, didn't like the fact that everyone was using it and quite frankly, didn't have everything I wanted. While I am still entertaining the idea of building something custom sometime soon, I was immediately happy when the UC-33e I ordered arrived. It's very slick, easy to use and really condusive to live performance. It's dirt cheap too. I'd definitely reccomend it and you can always get something different later after starting with it if need be.
