Edirol FA-66 audio interface

Post by tayzo »

I'm looking at picking up an FA-66 but I don't know anyone who has one. Can anyone speak to this piece of gear....good or bad thoughts....all are welcome. Currently using a Dell 600m lappy. Thanks

Depends on you needs. What do you expect from it and where do you gonna use it?

I plan on using it in the studio with my laptop....recording vocal snippets with mic, sampling my moog, and for performing live with the same laptop. It's a toss up between the Edirol and the M-Audio 410. But I've heard a lot of negative feedback on the 410.

Yeah the m-audio interfaces realy suck!

You sometimes have some noises which can only be handled by rebooting which is realy anoying pointing at youre workflow or even in a liveact.

It happens if some signal is clipping or you use the firewire as power supply.

So far there is no driver update to handle this so for that price better don't buy a m-audio intercface!
