I find this unit to be the ultimate field recorder and resonably priced considering it comes with everything you need including a good quality condenser mic with wind shields. Records everything up to 24bit/96hhz and also mp3 too.

Here's a sound example of an angry bird.

I recorded at 24bits/48hz but resized this to mp3 but it's still clearer than any recording I ever got with my MD.
