When I record into Ableton through my R16 mixer, it always says 16 bit on the info box for the recording.
How is this so when it is supposed to be 24 bit?
ZED R16 question
Re: ZED R16 question
The only chance I see possible to set at 24 bit is when exporting (rendering) audio.
I can't find the option to set it at 24 bit when recording in audio.
Seems I can only set the rate. Am I missing something?

Re: ZED R16 question
hmmm not sure as i never worked with ableton.
but on that regard i cant see how it would be different from cubase.
in cubase you have project setup where you set the sample and bit rate. without that option i cant see how ableton can know what settings you want for incoming audio.

Re: ZED R16 question
hmm ok from a quick check it seems that you cant manually change the sameple rate setting for the incoming audio.
ableton recognize the setting of the audio interface and matches the project to that sample rate.
if you go to preferences and to the audio tab you should have hardware setup.
like i said, never used ableton so other than that i have no clue.

Re: ZED R16 question
you can't manually change the sample rate but you can adjust the bit depth.
go to this tab:
Record
Warp
Launch
under file type there is bit depth. set it to 32.
cheers!

Wow, never saw this. All my past recordings have been in 16 bit. One of those 'DOh!' moments. Thanks.hydrogen wrote:you can't manually change the sample rate but you can adjust the bit depth.
