SAMARAH “FALLING AWAY” ON ZOD RECORDS: VOCAL GLITCH HOP

Samarah’s first full-length album “Falling Away”, the follow up to her EP “These Things”, is now available. The album is a sonic exploration into modern, forward thinking electronic song writing, which is often labeled glitch hop or IDM. “Falling Away” is an eminently warm and listenable album with her trademark dreamy and introspective moods created with textural bleeps and blips, lush atmospherics, and sultry, emotive vocals. Samarah’s diverse sound has been compared to Mira Calix, Mum and Massive Attack, but it's strong streak of originality makes comparisons difficult. She embraces digital songwriting but does not limit herself to keyboards and computers. Throughout the album she weaves samples of fluttering pianos, music boxes, chimes, radios and cutlery into minimal, elegant arrangements. The end result is an invitation into Samarah’s futuristic and idyllic micro world of unconventional sonic beauty. The album is currently available for purchase http://www.samarahspace.com and soon at http://www.zodrecords.com
