Truss has been an instant success on Perc Trax with both his collaborations with Donor and his own solo remixes and edits. Now he presents his first full solo EP for the label which fuses together a host of influences ranging from dubstep and broken beats to acid house and industrial sounds.
Lead track Osbasten leads the way as shuffled hats ride over a perfectly tweaked Berghainian throb. Dry Bridge is next with classic motor-city stabs over another tight, shuffled groove. Finally Truss' original tracks end with the forward looking acid house of Creigau.
The remixes take lead track Osbasten in very different directions. Truss' brother Tessela turns in a techno-tinged stepper built upon dubstep basslines but easily swerving the all too familiar wobble-bass cul-de-sac. Finally Truss' regular collaborator Donor provides the most purist techno track of the package with a dubbed-out take on Osbasten, lying somewhere in the middle ground between a dj tool and deep set opener.
