I've read a lot of good reviews in regards to this book. It seems like its the only music production book out there that gets any kudos. Definitely Gonna check it out.NewSc2 wrote:I have that book too -- it's one of the best books I've read on electronic music theory. Goes over each genre and describes how to build classic sounds. Even has one of the best short chapters on music theory I've read, and good suggested listening tracks.swindle wrote:I have absolutely no affiliation with that book, author, or publishing house. I'm just trying to make a kind suggestion.MINIMALTECHNOHOUSE wrote:Blatant plug; fck offswindle wrote:Great topic! Thx.
I'm currently devouring the book The Dance Music Manual: Tools, Toy and Techniques, by Rick Snoman, 1ed. The second edition is due next month. I know, it's not free, but there is a worthwhile companion site:

Its forum is useful, too:
