Advice on equipment for club

Post by pSsp »

I'm in the process of researching and sourcing equipment to deck out a club.
The Club is small enough, the dancefloor has a capacity of about 160 people(46sqm). The club will be catering for House/Techno

Would be grateful if anyone could give their advice or preference on soundsystems to go for? I have been researching Funktion 1, Dynachord and JBS Vibe. Are there are any other reliable names i could throw into the hat and are there any systems that are more suited to smaller clubs. And which would be the best value for money as the budget is still being considered.

Also in terms of Dj Equipment what mixers and CDJ's would be most widely desired by DJ's.

And if there are any good review websites you can point me to that would be great.

cheers

I don't know about the sound systems, but for DJ gear.

Record players: Technics SL1210MK5
CD players: Pioneer CDJ1000 MK3 or 4
Mixer: Allen & Heath Xone 92 or Pioneer DJM800 (you might end up buying one of them, and renting the other one if a DJ require it).
Make sure you have room for laptops/serato/traktor systems

add 2 good monitors for the dj booth also.

if you are serious you get in contact with a company which give you advice about acoustic questions.

it looks like you have no clue, this is going to be catastrophic if you simply go and buy some speakers ..

theres a couple of really good reggae soundsystems in dublin that would be able rent you their speakers for a night.

failing that, f1's are sound great in small rooms also.

does the places not have a sound system already?

patrick is spot on with the dj gear.

martin are also good sound systems. as Themis said, get in contact with a company that can go there and get you the best system for the venue and budget. you will also need to know someone who can look after the system.
