I stumbled across a really useful virtual synth called "Element" in a waves bundle I got. I use it in all my tracks from bass lines to random spaced out sounds.

OP: I'm no NI fanboi but reaktor, absynth and FM8 can satisfy your weird desires if you're willing to jump down those rabbit holes. A good reverb/delay will go a long way (Soundtoys Echo Boy, Eventide Blackhole?) too.

Eventide Blackhole is excellent for getting any sound really deep and spacey. The D16 Group Toraverb can get you a nice Dubby sound if you really play around with it.
