I know, this could be stupid for a lot of you but in the song "Loco Dice - Definition", that many of you knows, when the vocal play in the intro saying "Definition", there's just a delay on it or something more?

i think you can get close sometimes by setting up a delay with very short delay time (less than approx 50ms) and a lot of feedback (start at around 80% or something). add reverb to taste, and play with the delay times (you can use another delay time for left / right for some stereo widening. this works great on lots of sound but not always (for example sounds with a strong attack). so sometimes you have to mess with the sound source in order to get it right. also cut out very low and high frequencies as they can mess it up.

you could also use a nice impulse reverb (example: altiverb) and use some impulses of spring reverbs (or go for the real deal if you have the money).

another option is to use some fx loop where this effect is already incorporated...

maiyal you are right about the spring reverb... there is definitely delay on it though...

The old space echo has a spring in it...

Rein is totally on point about this too, convolution with this setting would probably work great... thinking about it some more this is probably just a Space Designer preset.
