Yossi ämoyal
Born and raised in Jerusalem, Yossi ämoyal fell in love with music from an early age. With a father who played the trumpet and an older brother who played the piano, Yossi's childhood was a soundtrack of funk, soul and rock. At the age of seven, Yossi began to play the drums. This would start his musical exploration with percussion and would form the early building blocks of his DJ and production career. At fifteen, he discovered electronic music in the form of the mighty Kraftwerk, and soon became hooked on The Orb after totally being blown away by their electronic sound.

With rhythm in his blood and a desire to share his passion for music, Yossi took to the decks and began experimenting with deep sounds that defied the mainstream sound of club life in Jerusalem. Delving deep into the "underground", Yossi made a name for himself with his signature DJ style comprised of techy beats, deep driving bass lines and rich soulful grooves while embracing elements of minimal, electronica and more traditional techno sounds. During this period, Yossi was editor on Jerusalem radio show Hitparkot (101FM) alongside DJ/mentor Ori Levi, with guest mixes coming from the likes of Jay Tripwire, Tyler Stadius, Geoff White, John Digweed, Todd Bodine etc.

In the studio, Yossi has worked together with established producers such as Michael Langlois (Sub static), Carlos De Silva (Northern Lights) and Charlessen (Atcha). Currently Yossi is hard at work with Arnaud Le Texier (Atcha/Safari Electronics). After a number of successful parties playing back to back together they have decided to take their talents to the studio and work off each other's ideas. On top of this Yossi has been hard at work developing his live act performance, which will encompass all his unreleased work to date.

The future looks bright for ämoyal. He has a forthcoming tour scheduled for 2005 alongside Arnaud Le Texier taking in Spain, France & the UK. Also in the pipeline is the start-up of his minimal record label Sushitech alongside label partner Matt du Jardin.
