Resistencia is an EP of five minimalistic works from Ojoruido (aka Renzo Peressi aka Mendigo) which sometimes shimmer like calm sunlight like in Venezuela where they were produced (Resistencia) or bath in a meadow of green grass pads (Belvedere), then some clouds come up and turn all a little bit darker with delay rich raindrop melodies and a little bit crisple there and crumble here (Salotto Rosso).
Attento follows this climate, staying on mostly straight 4/4 beat pattern like the rest of the EP, emerging with more weird soundscapes from the deep while the sky has really turned dark with rainy clouds by now. Belvedere is slow and mushy like the rain puddles but with it's general mod of long and warm melodies the sunshine is already visible at the horizon. Prendilo delays the upcoming good weather however and measures with Attento for which one is more dark and spooky scenario.
The suggestive space between creator and creation is diluted from the biographical perspective of the ojoruido internal analysis. The deep track of the life of the creator characterizes by acute sounds or occasional ruptures in the structured geography of the composition. Mental frequencies seduce the ear of listener leaving to us in a hypnotic state, that allows the creation of psychic landscapes: like a Mondrian put in the eye of the subconscious mind.
A range of sound structures delimits the lines of the composition creating isolated spaces and allowing this way to listening the selection of melodies that characterize their present mental state. In the same way Renzo, at the time of its creation is transforming the frequency into the measurement in which the contact with its own psique is become deeper.
Therefore ojoruido considered existential minimalism is the composition that the artist takes on occasion for the construction of its internal habitat. The escape of the apparent reality towards a full intimate world of sonorous sensations that at intervals molds the space and the time of light and darkness, allowing us to enter the personal world of Renzo Peressi, as if one was a musical binnacle.
