[dustv004] Simplex EP By Carl Taylor

Carl Taylor dishes up a large slab of Northern Electronic Soul on this multi-dimensional EP of funked up arse movers and heads down no nonsense techno. Simplex brings the deep sound of one way machine music from the darkest side of South Yorkshire, waging war against the big club mentality and a home town that has clearly forgotten it's own history in favour of empty chrome plated platitudes. System 23 provided a remix aimed squarely at the dance floor, it's clear they don't care for the miserable moaning techno brigade, their mission is to bring back the fun to the dance floor and they clearly don't care what anyone else thinks. Who Is In Control serves up the nightmare of machines taking over and the author just wanting to be left alone from both human and android pettiness/contact, thundering kicks that sound like the drop hammers from the now derelict ForgeMaster pound the listener into early submission, a truly schizophrenic ride. Kooky Trax 2 closes the EP with scattering drum patterns, glitched out bass and analog textures from the wrong side of a trip.
