Dig this: they are called the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra, an orchestra that only uses musical instruments made out of vegetables. Sounds strange but it's actually happening. Karmarouge Records have started a series of remix releases, in which they invite well known international artists to do their own individual vegetable sound interpretation, the first part of this trilogy was done by Märtini Brös and Gabriel Ananda. Now they open up the second chapter:
Armed with a sequencer and a hand-held blender, it's up to OLIVER HACKE and BASTEROID to show the world how to shake a thick portion of funk out of ginger, leek and onions. Electrobeats with cucumber-percussions, grumbling tech-house peppered with acidic sequences and melodic minimal house with bubbling sound fragments and ravish harmonies to a real smooth sundy morning bouncer.
