Post by bradley1602 »

Hey guys really great forum, I am into the sound of tini for a long time now.
She has got such an intimate thrilling style. Basically i just wanted to have some tips for just using her style as inspiration caus i dont wanna copy her really. Only wanted to know how she gets her funny weird perc und good subbass that right.

You can find them everywhere, on sample packs, maschine, or you can reproduce it with plug ins or analog stuff..it's choice of taste, style and experience.

As i can see, you're quite new in the world of the productions. The advice that i could give you is try to find your own sound, your own style and try to be far away from what sample packs are and how they sounds like.

i understand your question. first of all think about a solution which is the closet and easiest that you wouldn`t expect.

i know she is using ableton.

generally try some eqs filter or high cut filters on your bass lines. check with a parametrc eq bass frequencies. you can use deep played sinewave or a 808 Kick with a high attack.

use your ear to check (according to the bars of the loop you are listen) when she played a bass note. On the Kick between the kick etc. ... use in ableton the audio loop view to compare the position in the bars.

then start experimenting.

Keep in your mind:
you will never be satisfied cause you make something which did someone before!! and its not a guarantee to make the next desolat release.

I think the problem is that there isn't really any special techniques to most techno/minimal basslines. If you scan through the forum you will find the same answers to every bassline question asked.
Its funny how much the bassline question comes up, I actually find its the most simple part to get right! But maybe my focus isn't so much on bass as it was...

yes, i know what you mean. but you wrote that you want produce to sound like her. to release on desolat i mean, to get a release by it self. just an advice.

Sample old records, and drop some noise and crackle under it, and you've got the desolat sound. In my opinion, the only one who stands out from the desolat crowd is Buttrich, who'se stuff is really good and polished, with an incredible attention to detail. But that's another topic :)
