diva was updated to save 40% cpu from the prior version. i like the sound of it, it reminds me of alot of the after market image line synths (which are dope)

just a side note from reading a bit of this, some of the osc's and filters on my buddies modular sounds like there's reverb even though it's completely dry. the hertz doughnut i think it is has a very liquid wet sound even when dry

Yes this exactly why i like the hardware... out of the box it just sounds this way... but for me its not 100% there. So I ordered an ensoniq dp/4 to help me out with keeping it all in the mix. Will perhaps get one of these lexicon verbs that steevio recommended too.

Whats good for saturation/distortion on bass synth and leads?

Saturation = tape

Distortion = guitar pedals, Sherman filterbank or just overdrive anything you can get and see what happens.

in my experience distortion boxes that work great for basses are usually not the best for leads and vice versa. i really like tubes for bass btw.

^^^^^^
yes tubes all the way for saturation and distortion

ultimate for me would be a tube desk....someday, someday

sorry earlier i said MX500, it should have read MPX500

(theres the MPX550 also)

i love my sherman filterbank, have used it on everything ive recorded in the last 12 years, but subtlety is not its game, expect much extremeness
