His set was nice and flowy, like most of his Paletyte productions, but he also played some clickhousy sh!t. And at one point he was beatjuggling this fat bassline which showed his immaculate mixingskills. Good thing though he left it with just that and for the rest I didn't hear any showing off. I like that. Show the crowd what you could do, but don't bother them with it.

That's exactly the way i saw him play in Barcelona en Doornroosje! He is one of the technically best DJ's around + he has an excellent choice of records.

Maybe he should give a mixing course to some of his German colleagues

haha... When I was in Benicassim (Valencia Spain), watching the ping-pong set of Richie and Ricardo, they were in one of their hugging moods  :

"Oh, Ricardo, your sooooo minimal!"
"No, YOU're minimal."
"No you are!"
"Oh, let's just hug each other and be minimal toGETHER!"

Get a room, you two..

Anyway, while they were hugging and laughing and sh!t, the two records were slowly missing a beat here and there. Hawtin was the one 'mixing' but in his hug with Villalobos he had his back turned towards the decks. The whole crowd started whistling and he turned around with an expression on his face like. "Whaaat? Chill out guys, I'm having fun here." But the Spanish crowds don't take that type of sh!t. Guess it's part of the macho culture that a deejay should be mixing properly or fck off. Funny to see the <<beteuterde blik>> of Hawtin there. We're not in Kansas anymore, Rich. After that he certainly tried harder.
