In Search Of Ambience

Hey there people. I'm in search of some Deep and Mellow ambient tracks. You know strings with low-pass filters and such.

I'm not after anythin where a bloke has sat in a rainforest for an hour with a mic.

Electronic Ambient music. (Kick drums welcome)

Any suggestions?

amazing and obvious choices...

Gas - Nah und Fern
Kompakt - Pop Ambient series

less obvious slightly weirder releases but maybe you'll like them... I certinaly do

Animal Collective - Campfire Songs (amazing ambientish night time organic soulful campfire vibes)
the Olivia Tremor Control vs. Black Swan Network - 'the tour ep' (quite trippy and experimental... sounds a bit like a strange dream, but overall a really nice record)

As said, Gas! Murcof too!

and, completely different but still ambient : Secede

Since his Tryshasla album, a lot of ambiant albums sound really poor and unfinished...
