I really rate the Studio 1 set of releases, all the colours and Keep on Rockin', and return to listen to them fairly frequently.

Green 1 is my personal favourite.

Voight and Voight on Kompakt Extra Speciher series was good too.

what got us into minimal. We have them all twice 8) And now just so that we don't wear them out too much we ripped them in 320's to play with serato.

It would be pssible to have a liveact simply based on those records. they are lovely!

Anyone heard the thomas brinkmann studio one variationen cd (PROFAN CD 2)? That one is awesome as well!!

Brinkmann's Studio 1 variations are totally brilliant.
executed in the same style as his Concept variations (dual-tonearm experimental stereo recordings, very very slow, EXTREMELY dark & trippy).
both variation series are my favorite Brinkmann releases, hands down.

back on topic:
yeah, overall Voigt is one of my top 3 artists/producers of all time (next to Larry Heard & Basic Channel). his sound is so diverse, yet so strangely cohesive; for example the differences between the Gas sound & the later M:i:5 material is vast, yet both carry a tradition of samples used in a very unique and dark manner...
