thing rework have done yet and is none the worse for it. it's almost like

tech-house dub that will kill dancefloors the world over and will sit pretty
on his next de909 cd at the same time. as fat and mixable as you like, this
shimmies into my 20 for the year effortlessly.)

REWORK - LIKE ME - PLAYHOUSE - 12" (PLAYHOUSE84)
DESTINED TO BE ABSOLUTELY HUGE, THE NEW REWORK SINGLE IS A PHAT
OLD BEAST AND NO MISTAKE. THE MAIN TRACK ROCKS AND HAS A SLIGHTLY
OLD SCHOOL KIND OF FLAVA WITH ITS HYPNOTIC, SAUCY VOCAL, DRIVING
BASS STABS AND FRESH 4/4 BEATS. THE FLIP HAS SIMILAR ELEMENTS
BUT WITH A SLIGHTLY DARKER OVERTONE, WHILST THE THIRD TRACK IS
A SIMPLY LOVELY SLICE OF POP THAT COMES ON IN A SLIGHTLY NEW ORDER
KIND OF WAY. BRILLIANT STUFF AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

You're So Special, Let Me Know Where You Live
Rework "Not Quite Like Any Other" - I'm such a sucker for songs like this - woozy, hazy, romantic, melancholy, ridiculously European. Perhaps my mind is too trained by film and music videos, but it's hard for me to hear this song without thinking of old European cities shot in stark black and white with some stunning woman with pale skin, dark hair, and sunglasses walking around looking distant and disaffected. It's just that kind of song. This is taken from Rework's new album Fall Right Now on the German label Playhouse.

Here's another monster coming up: Rework's 'Montpellier'. The two Stuttgart based producers Michel Kuebler and Daniel Varga had themselves and their two vocalists shot straight into all our hearts with their club hit 'You're So Just Just' and their fantastic album Fall Right Now. You just can't keep yourself away from their pop house with that special French flair. 'Montpellier' takes their sound into a techno direction and really rocks. Whoever has seen Rework perform live knows what we are talking about. Though this 12" is that little bit more techno, drones and finally ends in a funny ironical way, 'Montpellier' still is the elegant pop we love them for. In short, there's a little love for everyone on the new Rework."

Rework - Like Me (playhouse/084)

Titel: Like Me
Artist: Rework
Label/Distr.: Playhouse /
Format: 12" Vinyl
[created: 26.11.2003]

ON THE PLAYHOUSE LABEL (RICARDO VILLALOBOS, FREAKS, RANDOM FACTOR, ETC).... THESE GUYS JUST KEEP BUMPIN' THE GEMS. THREE MORE UBERCOOL TECH-HOUSE CUTS FROM REWORK, FOLLOWING UP THEIR RECENT REMIX OF COLDER "CRAZY LOVE" WITH ANOTHER FLOOR-BUMPIN' RELEASE BLENDING THUMPIN', GRITTY HOUSE BEATS, STRIPPED DOWN ELECTRONIC GROOVES, AND LO-FI PROCESSING WITH THEIR SIGNATURE FEMALE VOCAL APATHY TO REALLY GET RIGHT DOWN TO BRASS TAX ON THE FLOOR. A MUST FOR FANS OF BRIQUE ROUGE, CLASSIC, GOURMET, TRAPEZ, ETC...

"'Anyway I Know You' by Rework on Playhouse. It's minimal, sexy--the French accent kills me--romantic, driving, dreamy. I have to hold myself back from playing it every night I DJ."

Rework - Montpellier (Scheinselbständig/007)
Egal was Rework machen, das stimmt schon. Perfekt.

Rework
Like Me
(Playhouse 084/Neuton)
PLAYGROUND - VÖ: --.--.----
Pop raus – Rave rein! You’re So Just“ (Playhouse 065) zurückgreifen muss. Noch besser aber „This Girls’s Very Good“, das noch einen Schritt weiter geht und sich als dunkler, psychotischer Techno-Track gibt, der immer so wirkt, als würde er gleich auseinander fallen. Im krassen Gegensatz dazu steht der letzte, wunderbare Song „It’s Too Late“, auf dem Reworks Herzen dann doch wieder heftig für Indie-Pop zu schlagen beginnen.

Rework - You`re So Just Just (Playhouse/065)
Denn "You´re so Just Just" ist einfach
Groove. Danke Playhouse, mal wieder.

partysan 12/02 rework review

FALL RIGHT NOW *2LP* (PLAYHOUSE) DP 56345
Rework's breakthrough single 'Your So Just Just' (Play065) is just one of
ten ultra-chic tech house and retro-inspired jams on their debut album for
Playhouse. Their remake of Chris & Cosey's early-90's Industrial/alternative
hit 'October Love Song' is almost worth the price of admission alone, but
even more hidden gems await as you dig deeper, like 'Amoureuse' with its New
Order sounding instrumentation (from their 'Movement' period) and sleazy
French female vocals resonating perfectly, also worth mentioning is 'Not
Quite Like Any Other' with it's Miss Kittin meets Felix Da Housecat in a
cabaret type vibe. Definetly grab the CD on this one for home listening
purposes!

I heard a rework track off of John Tejada's Cued-Up mix last year the track is called "crash", that is the sh!t right there but I haven't been able to find the record anywhere. I have "you're so just just" and it's a very nice track, rework is awesome.
