Fax is Rubén Alonso Tamayo, who hails from the border city of Mexicali.
Fax has released his music on labels like Traum (Germany), Rocket Racer (US) and Sentrall (US). But it is with Static Discos where Fax released his debut album 'Resonancia' (2002) and his second album 'Ruido de Fondo' (2003). His music is four on the floor minimal tecno, with a little bit of dub and warm melodic lines of sound thrown in for good measure; clicks with no cuts, ambient pools of sound and dark mirrors with straight surfaces for clear sound reception. Rub?has also produced all the graphic images for the Static Discos releases, including Murcof's two releases on the Leaf
label.
