My question is why not? Their presence isn't hurting anyone. Quite on the contrary.

The samples take up space. Space costs money. Keeping samples of records you will never sell again is a waste of money.

I'm not advocating anything. I just think that making a fuss over record stores deleting 10+ year old samples from their databases is... you know... silly...

As for older records, i already have more than i need (even though it's never enough).
Also, there are currently 4500+ records in my Discogs wantlist, they will keep me busy for many years to come...
