I don't think this will change much.

It's funny because so much of the music on beatport sounds the same so how will this work?

horrific fucking idea.

there's already enough gratuitous cell phone use on the dancefloor with people smsing to tell friends "wish you were here" or "xxx is killing it tonight" or "get me a vodka tonic," adding a bunch of gurning wannabe's with their hands in the air waiving a giant blue "s" around my face trying to get some hot track id off of villalobos is going to make me want to go postal.

Its just that that beatport can sell the ids directly.

It should work with Marco Carola, Loco Dice, David Guetta, Richie Hawtin, Luciano etc.


The label must be signed to beatport. To find an ID you must have the source, if not you can only search and profit of your experience.

This "fusion" will change nothing.

if you believe Beatport has only mainstream music that Carola and Luciano plays you certainly dont check beatport often.

Many old labels migrate there music to beatport, simply cause they have nothing from discogs second hand sales.

besides, i didnt see a request for Carola or Luciano IDs in ages..

whats so horrible.. in all reality, at least people wont bug you when you trying to mix vinyl.. to (ask) what the track was..
shazam also links up to youtube videos when it's locates and id.... and before beatport (I think) were pointing to juno actually..
so either way that were pointing to a source to find the music.. only now they will be pointing to beatport..
who they directly their traffic to is nothing more than a referral source for them obviously ..
it has to be someone.. I think it matters not..
