Running a label

Post by brosky »

Hello there, its been quite a while since my last post... i hope someone can help me!

I've been trying for a while to start my own label ... i have some of the minor details established and i did some research about it but i'd like to have someone else's point of view in mind...

Is it hard to own and run a label?? this is totally new for me but I'm confident i can do a good job!
Anyone here that can give me some tips ? I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!

- consistent mastering levels
- consistent (at least semi-regular) release schedule
- regular promotion via social networks/forums (stay on people's radar)

you need to take care of one thing only - make sure you release only extremely good material, stuff that deserves to be put out. the rest is secondary. too many worthless releases nowadays.
