New CDJ2000s on the way?

So it looks like the CDJ-2000 is officially discontinued according to a few sources and the CDJ-2000 Nexus will be released in April.

You'd think they have so much competition now they decrease the price even after new features.

One day they'll get rid of the CDs inthe CDJ

they kind of already did - you can plug in a memory stick and play the files with the jog wheel, but without any hard media in the cd portion.

Nexus means = $500.00 more a deck with some dumb sh!t no one wants or will use.

Actually, I have no idea what it means. What could they possibly add aside from a screen as big as an ipad? I have the 850's and I've never used the looping or multiple cue points or any of that other sh!t. I put in a cd, cue it up and mix it in. The USB feature is nice, but I've had some skipping issues with USB sticks. I used their recordbox software to populate the drives with songs as well. Still had issues. Might have been the drives, but I got tired of fucking with it.

On a similar note, when did 1200's start costing a grand? I went to replace my million year old belt drive deck that finally died and was shocked at the price.

i just checked and there are people offering one for 400-600€ .. which still is a lot i think
