Hey... So I'm in the Market for a new mac and just trying to work what spec to go for.
What does everyone else use?
Also these days there must be a cut off point where you no longer need to worry about CPU usage... For audio application anyway. Ideas on where that is?

Wasn't think over compression as a negative more the warmth you get from good mastering ie expensive valves. definately going to try Bussing some distortion in though

Re: Bart skills Bass line
Yeh was the sub I was talking about. Recently got some new monitors and it all became a bit clearer.. definitely a sine under the kick. Been hearing that in a few tracks lately. Do you think its that distorted? Maybe just a result of the mastering process. As you mention it.. any ideas on the stab. ...

Bart skills Bass line
Hey, can anymore help work out how this bassline was made.

It's a filtered down square or saw wave, however I can't work out whether there's a bass note under the kick drums to give it a more continuous sound (if that makes sense)
Thanks

Re: Techno Hi Hats
Thanks guys, good tips.. 909, velocity, side chain, chorus.
Do you think there's much swing on them, or just the side chain/velocity that gives the groove.
Feel like I'm always on here asking groove related questions.. is pretty important in dance music I guess!:)
