Yea I forgot to mention that I do dig through decks, juno Deejay.de etc beforehand as the prices on Discogs are just out of hand and i also utilise soundcloud but maybe not enough. Discogs would be my main source, i need to start branching out as much as possible as not having a record store here is...

mnml Maxi I find my self doing the same. Sticking to Electro and Techno ( my go to genres) and then just shifting through the many pages. Always good though to change it up, makes the process more fun and less repetitive so Ill defs need to start doing that more often. I always go through the labels...

Yea no real set software is the best one to use. I always stuck with ableton because it was the first I was introduced to and got help with working my way through it. I also think KRK's are fine for starting off with. I know when I started I was using beat out speakers and no Midi keyboard and it was still fun and gets the job done for starting off when you're just learning. Ableton is a great DAW for just jumping in right away and drawing in your notes etc. But ...
