Maybe i am leaning out of the window with this post but i think even with very good commercial samples such as goldbaby wave alchemy one can produce a shed like sound if wanted so theres no reason for a bunch of drummachines. If one wants the haptic feeling then thats another thin..,,

Hm could it be layered sine waves in different ocatves mixed together and the higher with some saturation???

Using kick drum reverbed gated an filtered as bassline, sine waves of a synth and 808kicks with some hicut and attack as bassline. Somehow it never gets in the direction of this dubby bassline stuff..

i always had good expieriences with monitors they can give good stereo image and very usefull if you are not mixing in the best room.

thx for the reply, yeah milton is a really good producer in my oppinion too. yeah i know the mastercclass thing altough its a little time ago i saw it. yeah somehow this pad sound i think is very distinctive but yeah maybe intelligent dnb is a good place to look for. ill give it a try definitely thx...
