The guys at GIK most definitely know a pile about acoustics - my point is that you can get massive improvements in studio acoustics without an understanding of room modes. Don't take my comments out of context ;) A proper understanding of the finer points of studio acoustics can, of course yield eve...

it depends if you know your room modes. you will save yourself serious money if you go DIY but only if you understand room modes. Totally false... Even if you don't have any knowledge of room modes, proper bass-trapping in the 4 corners and treatment of your early reflection points will yield a mas...

Oh yeah - http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/x-ism/ Free plugin designed to give you accurate metering by modelling inter-peak transients. To S.K: What you say may be true. Indeed, in digital audio terms, I have no clue what the exact textbook definition of 'headroom' really is. On the other han...

Hence my disclaimer 'professionally mastered' ;) By all means line up a solid volume reference and slam that master bus until it's loud enough to mix for a DJ set or whatever your immediate need. I'm not particularly experienced, but I've found Cytomic's 'The Glue' to do a great job adding massive g...

glue is nice. but api2500 is nicer ;) and a real one would be pure niceness Waves? Hmmm... I haven't used that specifically but have seen it mentioned in comparison. Have you compared the API 2500 to current versions of The Glue, out of curiousity? Quality of processed audio has come along way sinc...
