Techno Hi Hats

I was just wondering if some one could give me some tips on making similar hats to this tune;

I'm sure they're simply done but it's evading me.

They kind of have an old school straight 16ths feel.

Re: How do you get your groove

Understand your point about standardised swing but a lot of the appeal of old drum machines is their unique swings. People want to use things like mpcs because they groove in a specific way. Re: Minimal production tips please

Since the forum was updated you can't search for old posts with the search function.

However if you search in google with

site:mnml.nl

then your topic, old posts will come up.

Re: pitched down toms?

Don't think those toms are pitched down in any way, just low tom samples.

Try looking for a tribal sample pack, will no doubt be full of toms like that.

Re: How do you get your groove

Some great suggestions here thanks.

Really like the idea of making a groove template from your own playing.

Also using delays I'll try.

Totally agree about space/silence... very Miles Davis "It's not the notes you play... It's the notes you don't play"

How do you get your groove

Just wanted to know how people get their tracks to groove.

Swing quantize? Moving elements backwards/forwards? Velocities?

Would be goo to get some opinions/tips on getting the best grooves.
