the same as the most here...movies, livesets, emotions, loops... sometimes i feel that i want to make a track but im not that inspired at the moment so i just make a 4 bar kick loop and start tweaking it...before you know, you are making a track :) another thing i do is going to a coffeshop in town ...

That sounds terribly reasonable, but I am afraid there is only one correct way to mix a kick drum and a bass line. i can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not, but that is absolutely not true.
