Yeah all I hear is good about the Mackie HR 824's. I think I'll take a pair of the MKII's for a spin and see how I get on. Lot of money to be spending, though I'm sure they are worth every penny.

I don't like the Yamaha. but thats just me. i think that for a start you should buy just monitors with no subs. hear how they sound in your room/studio and only than consider a sub.
