in fact the choice depends on the sound you are looking for, but booth are excellent

i already heard ricardo with dandy jack and others but, until now, i didn't have the occasion to listen to him alone....

to convert the real audio format in mp3 (or whatever) there is also the possibility to use dbpoweramp (www.dbpoweramp.com).
it is also free, but you should install the codecs before (available for free on the same site)

there is also a small plugin called tbl bassline, which is not expensive and sounds good. it is only monophonic, so you don't have tons of possibilities, you will get mostly 303 sounds with it...
