Hey Guys ,

Just had a read on KVR lately and some guys talk about Audible Aliasing..
I don't have any clue what this is

Can somebody explain that to me?

well , maybe I am just stupid or asked my question in the wrong way.. don't really know what aliasing means in that case , can someone post an example or explain me that "aliasing"-effect

Its basically to do with the sample rate being too slow so some oscillations of the signal are missed and reproduced as a distorted waveform. You can get visible aliasing too, that's why it was probably mentioned as audible.

Visible aliasing is easier to understand as it's pretty obvious to look at and its basically the same thing that happens to audio.

audible aliasing = when aliasing happens in audible frequencies (higher frequencies usually)

thanks for the links dudes , I did a google search but didn't find anything , should have better searched at the KVR Wiki instead Wink

Put a bit crusher on a reverb, it acts like a gate at less than 10 bit.... Wink
